Natural Packs for Oily Hair

Here, we have provided one of the most popular (and also one of the most effective) homemade natural packs for oily hair. This homemade natural hair care pack can be most effective when used with a scalp toner and a herbal shampoo.

Egg Fuller's Earth Natural Pack for Oily Hair

Ingredients:
  1. Eggs-2 (raw, with the yolks removed)
  2. Fuller's Earth (Multani Mitti)- 4 tbsp (heaped)
  3. Mint Leaves-1 cup (wet)
  4. Lemon Juice-2 tbsp
  5. Honey-1 tsp
Preparation:
  1. Use a blender to make a paste of the mint leaves. Leave aside.Put the chopped spinach in a blender. Add the water. Make a smooth, even paste of the spinach.
  2. Beat the egg whites in a rounded glass bowl.
  3. Mix the well-beaten egg whites with the Fuller's Earth, mint leaves paste, lemon juice and honey in the glass bowl. Mix thoroughly to get a smooth even paste.
Application:
  1. Remember this natural hair pack for oily hair should be applied on dried hair.
  2. Comb your hair and part it in the middle.
  3. Apply the natural hair pack evenly on your hair.
  4. Cover your hair with a shower cap.
  5. Leave this hair pack on your hair for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Rinse it off with water.
  7. Use a reetha based shampoo to wash your hair. (You may also use a baby shampoo. These are one of the mildest shampoos that you can get.)
Use this hair pack once every week. This will help to remove the excess oil from your scalp.

Reetha (Soapnut) Shikai Shampoo for Oily Hair

Ingredients:
  1. Reetha Nuts (Soapnut) -1 cup
  2. Water-1 liter
  3. Shikakai (Acacia Concinna)-2 tbsp (heaped)
  4. Lemon Juice-2 tbsp
  5. Honey-1 tsp
Preparation:
  1. Soak the reetha nuts overnight in 1 liter of water, in a plastic or glass bowl. The next morning, remove the stones from the nuts and mash the reetha nuts well in the water.
  2. Strain the solution.
  3. Add the shikakai powder to the solution. Mix well.
Application:
  • Shampooing

    1. Apply the mixture to your hair. Take care that it does not get into your eyes.
    2. Cover your hair with a shower cap.
    3. Leave this homemade natural shampoo on your hair for 5 minutes.
    4. Rinse your hair thoroughly with water.
  • Conditioning


    1. Mix the honey and lemon juice in 1 liter of water. Apply this natural conditioner to your hair.
    2. Remember you should apply the conditioner to your hair and not to your scalp.
    3. Leave it on for 2 minutes.
    4. Rinse your hair till it is squeaky clean.
  • Drying

    1. Dry your hair gently by patting it with a soft towel and then wrapping the towel round your head like a turban. Take off the towel after 5 minutes.
    2. Comb your hair gently with a wide-toothed comb to free the ends.
    3. Allow your hair to dry naturally. Do not use a hair dryer.

Malt Vinegar Based Natural Toner for Oily Hair

Along with the natural hair pack for oily hair, you may also use a toner that will help to control the oil secretion

Ingredients:
  1. Malt Vinegar-2 tbsp
  2. Water-1/2 liter
  3. Salt-1/4 tsp
Preparation:
  1. Make a solution of the salt, malt vinegar and water in a clean, glass jar.
  2. You can keep this solution for a maximum period of five days.
  3. Take 4 tbsp of this solution and massage into your scalp every 3 days.
  4. Use gentle, rotating movements of your finger tips to massage the solution into your scalp.
  5. Leave it on for 50-60 minutes.
  6. Rinse it off with plain water.
  7. Ideally avoid the use of a hair dryer. If you have to use one—hold the hair dryer at a distance of 1 foot from your hair.
These natural hair treatments also prevent hair loss or hair fall, and make your hair soft, lustrous and shiny.

Caution: If you are allergic to any of the ingredients used in these natural hair recipes then, do not use these natural packs for oily hair.
