Homemade Masque Recipe for Dry Hair

You hair endures a lot of abuse: blow dryers, flat irons, curling irons, chemicals, and coloring. Sometimes your hair needs a little pampering to keep it from becoming dry and brittle. Homemade hair masks help to rehydrate the hair with deep conditioning formulas. These masks for dry hair contain all-natural ingredients that restore the moisture and shine without any harsh chemicals.

    Banana

  1. Bananas are filled with vitamins and minerals that are good for the health of your hair, and are a common ingredient in homemade hair masks. Mash a banana, an egg, and an avocado together in a bowl using a spoon, fork or potato masher. Add honey, buttermilk, and extra virgin olive oil to the mashed ingredients and mix it together well. To use this homemade hair mask, apply it from the roots to the tips of your hair and allow it to soak for 30 minutes. Then shampoo and condition your hair as you normally would. Apply this treatment to your hair twice a month, and it will not only help replenish moisture, but will also give your hair a significant luster and shine.
  2. Yogurt

  3. The bacteria in yogurt play a major role in softening hair and adding moisture. To make this homemade yogurt mask, combine an egg white, plain organic yogurt, and mayonnaise and stir until the mixture is smooth. Smooth the liquid over your hair from the roots to the ends, then cover your hair with a plastic shower cap or piece of plastic wrap. Allow the hair mask to soak in for 30 minutes, and then rinse with a gentle shampoo. Finally, rinse your hair with extremely cold water. Do this monthly to add moisture to dry hair. The protein of the egg combined with the oils of the mayonnaise will help add moisture to the hair, repair damage and restore vitamins and minerals.
  4. Avocado

  5. The natural oils and fats in avocado make it a great ingredient for dry hair. Mash a ripe avocado into a bowl. Massage a lemon for a few seconds, then cut the lemon in half and squeeze it into the bowl. Add sea salt, and finally aloe juice or gel. Mix the ingredients well, then dampen the hair and apply the avocado paste all over your hair. Use your fingers or a comb to distribute the mask through your hair. Your hair will feel very soft and smooth, and you will notice an immediate difference. Apply the paste 1 or 2 times a month for softer, shinier hair.
